Beginnings — is a series of buildings, materials, exhibitions & events presenting contemporary art in a welcoming environment.

Our History

From 2012-13, Beginnings —  held twelve exhibitions at a small storefront gallery in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, featuring Leif Low-beer, Leigh Wells, Hiro Kurata, Eric Timothy Carlson, Jungil Hong, Merijn Hos, C.F., Peter Nencini, Helmut Smits, Matt Leines, Jamian Juliano-Villani, Jan Kempenaers, Dr. Wolfgang Streeck, Heather Culp, Caroline Hwang, James Ulmer and more. The space also hosted events with Sonnenzimmer, B.ü.L.b comix, Baisao Tea Room, Remedy Quarterly, Put A Egg On It, Human Being Journal, Flapjack, and others.

Exhibition Paper documented these first exhibitions in a series of double-sided single sheet newsprints (Vol. 1).

Beginnings Broadcasting Group uses these artists as a starting point to produce programming related to the arts, life & culture. The B.B.G. is an ongoing project.
